How you can help AHS by donating or volunteering |
|||||||||||||||||||
| AHS is in need of foster homes with no other dogs. Some of our dogs need to live in homes where they are the only dog. If you would like to help us help dogs in need by being a foster home, please email us at info@alternativehumanesociety.org or call us at 671-7445. |

You can help touch the lives of rescued homeless animals in our care awaiting adoption. Every dollar makes a difference. We are an all volunteer, 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue organization. We depend upon private donations, as we receive no local, state or federal financial support. The Alternative Humane Society appreciates your generosity and all donations made are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Your donation will be acknowledged.
AHS does not share your personal information. Your privacy and the security of your donation is important and protected. Your donation allows us to help more people pay to spay and neuter their cats and dogs, provide more community education about the care of cats and dogs, and continue to rescue and place homeless dogs. |

| Donation Canisters Needed We need plastic containers to make into donation canisters. The kind we need are hard plastic "Costco" type containers with a screw on wide mouth lid. Square containers are best, but round are ok too. About 4 inches across is an ideal size. Clean, dry containers can be dropped off at Ruff Day Doggie Daycare, 2123 Lincoln Street in Bellingham. |

Volunteering
The Alternative Humane Society of Whatcom County is ALL volunteer. We have no office, no shelter and no paid staff. More than 75 volunteers work from our homes to raise money and administer programs to to foster/adopt homeless dogs, to help people pay to spay and neuter their dogs and cats, and to educate animal guardians. To learn more, please join our mailing list and/or come to one of our Board Meetings held the first Tuesday of each month at 6 pm at the Hospital Education Center. If we know you're coming, we will plan a new volunteer orientation for the first half hour of the meeting. Call 671-7445 for more information.
